Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a question that needs an Answer? Ask here...

  • If I land on a cork space and it says to move forward and back some number of spaces do I still answer a question on that turn?

Yes, if the move puts you on a regular question space you would answer the question at that time. However, if an opponent moves you as a result of a cork card you will roll, move and then answer a question when it’s your turn.

  • If I get way ahead can my opponents make me switch to answering the connoisseur questions?

Only if you have had too many wine taste tests!

  • When can I use the “Free Answer” cork card?

You can use it at anytime. Obviously, it would be best to use it on a question you don’t think you know the answer to. You can also use it on a wine taste test.

  • What happens if I don’t get any money before I pass that section on the board?

    You lose!

  • What do I do if my wine sales break the bank and there isn’t enough currency to pay me.

Sometimes, if you are very successful in eh game, you can break the bank. In that case just write down the amount of cash you have.

  • When would it be best to take the shortcut?

Not very often because you give up too many chances to answer questions correctly and earn more assets. However, if you didn’t get any cash during that phase the only way to get any money is to finish first and receive the $50,000 bonus for finishing first.

  • If I have already spent all my money on acres and land on another space where the only choice is to get more cash or buy acres should I answer the question anyway.

No, you will speed up play by not answering questions when there is no gain in getting it right. Since you can’t go backwards, i.e. get more cash after you have started buying acres, and you have no more money to buy acres, you have nothing to gain by answering the question. Just pass the die and move along.
